Twista's 'Category F5' Dropping in the Spring

Thursday January 22, 2008 (Chicago, IL)- Platinum recording artist, Twista, is preparing for a spring release of his next solo album, Category F5. The album, which will be released on EMI Records, marks another milestone in the Chicago emcee’s career as he reunites with The Legendary Traxster. Traxster produced Twista’s solo debut, Adrenaline Rush, in its entirety, and returns with his trademark sound on Category F5.

“Me and Trax can just go in and we got that vibe,” comments Twista. “When we work together we take it back to that old Chicago style that we kicked it on Adrenaline Rush. Everybody is gonna definitely like what Trax is bringing to the album.”

Traxster’s production efforts will be alongside tracks produced by the likes of Jim Jonsin (T.I.- Whatever You Like, Lil Wayne- Lollipop), the Tastemakers, and in-house producers Cuzo (Twista- Pimp Like Me, Twista- Whip Game Proper) and Toxic (Twista- Creep Fast, Keyshia Cole- Trust).

“This album is gonna have a little bit for everyone,” says Twista. “I’m bringing the Traxster joints like ‘Wetter’ for the Adrenaline Rush fans and got some tracks to give all the newer sounds that Twista flavor for the newer generation.”

The recent release of the Traxster produced “Wetter” was positively received by fans and critics alike, and a new label situation and fresh perspective have helped mold Category F5 into a true testament to Twista’s creativity and longevity.

  1. I think Twista did enough experimenting, & waisting too much time with all these mainstream attempts. Twista should quit begging for platinum status and just make hood music. If that's what everyone wants, then what's so hard about doing that? Twista can make full length album produced by The Legendary Traxster in its entirety for his real ass fanbase, then make a lovey dove, club banger album with Lil' Wayne & Pharrell for all his female fans. Then he can get respect and sell ringtones. Toxic & Scott Storch can produce the album for the ladies! FUCK IT PRESS A DOUBLE ALBUM AND KILL 2 BIRDS WITH 1 STONE! Call it "THE HARD & THE SOFT"

  2. I really wish TWISTA & TRAXSTER could just sit back and do a whole album mayne! 15 solid tracks wit TWISTA on the bars and hooks, droppin three verses a cut (NO FEATURES). Erryone would really appreciate that and I know the work would be classic. Combined they complete each others styles....

  3. Aye that track "wetter" brought it back to that real rap and hip-hop, that chicago style old school realness. Chicago has so much potiential its just harder for our style of artist (Lupe) (Common) (Twista) (Bump J) (Do or Die) etc to get those tracks outside of the midwest. we got the real and i figure when the rest of these so called hip-hop fans are ready to move on to expose themseleves to our style like how we are towards east coast, west coast and down south rap then the outsiders will learn our ways and why Chicago's rappers rap the way they do and why our whole culture is a mix between each coast and at the same time why we are unlike any coast.

  4. I think that "Wetter" is one of the coldest tracks twista has ever done. He brought back the old Adrenaline Rush sound with that record. To me Adrenaline Rush 1997 is his best album ever. But still alot of people sleep on Twista because they don't understand what he says or since he's from the chi. Twista is one of the best damn rappa's out here. I know that Category f5 will be crazy but if you read this comment Twiss or anyone associated with him tell him to please do another classic with Bone thugs-n-harmony (all 5 members) cuz ya'll make good music together. YA DIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
